One fixed fee. Every government charge listed before you pay.
No hourly billing and no surprises at lodgement. The professional fee is quoted in writing after the consultation, and the government charges below are the current figures we quote against.
How the fee works
- A paid consultation with a lawyer comes first. If the pathway is not real, you hear it there.
- The professional fee is fixed for the matter and set out in a written agreement before work begins.
- Instalments are agreed up front, usually tied to the stages of the application.
- Government charges are listed separately in the same agreement and paid to the Department at lodgement.
What the Department charges, visa by visa.
Main applicant charges as at 1 July 2026, verified against the Home Affairs pricing table and the Federal Register of Legislation. Dependants, health checks, police clearances and English tests are additional.

Consultation to decision, in four steps.
The same sequence for every visa. The time between the steps depends on how quickly evidence comes together and on the Department, not on us.
Consultation
A paid session with a migration lawyer, in person or by video. You bring your visa history, occupation or relationship details. You leave with a pathway, the risks named and a costs breakdown.
Engagement
A professional services agreement with the fixed fee and instalments, and the government charges listed separately. Nothing starts until you have signed it.
Evidence and drafting
Your document request arrives within days. We draft and check every statement and submission before anything is uploaded. Gaps are found now, not by a case officer.
Lodgement and decision
Lodged decision-ready. Every Department letter is forwarded with a note on what it means and what happens next, and any request is answered inside the deadline.
Costs, answered plainly.
Why is the consultation paid?
Because it is legal advice from a lawyer, not a sales call. You receive a real assessment of your prospects, including a clear no where a pathway is not viable, and the cost is set out when you book.
Do you offer payment plans?
The fixed fee is split into instalments tied to the stages of the matter and agreed in the written agreement. Government charges are paid in full at lodgement because the Department requires it.
What if my application is refused?
The professional fee covers the application through to decision. A Tribunal review is a separate matter with its own fixed fee, quoted when the decision arrives and the grounds are known.
Can you quote without a consultation?
Not accurately. The fee depends on the visa, the stream, previous refusals and how much evidence exists. A quote given without looking at your facts would be a guess, and you would pay for the guess later.
Are government charges refundable?
Generally no. A visa application charge is not refunded on refusal. The Administrative Review Tribunal fee is partly refunded if the decision is set aside. This is the main reason we do not lodge thin applications.
